The Peoples Gas Holiday Market is taking place beginning this month and will continue until just before Christmas. It is a presentation of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
The market is similar to those that are held throughout Europe, including the Christkindlmarkts found in Germany.
The entire market will be illuminated and vendors will be in Alpine-style chalets and booths. There will be daily live performances on the Colcom Stage from community choirs and local bands. There will also be performances by a variety of ethnic groups from the city. Of course, Santa Claus will be making an appearance too.
The first night of the market doubles up as Light Up Night in downtown Pittsburgh. This event is set to feature lots of family activities, food, music and a firework display, providing an opportunity for people interested in shopping for their families and friends. Vendors will be selling a wide variety of items, which will likely include handmade arts and crafts, clothing, toys, Christmas decorations, and wrapping papers.
Organizers of this event will likely invest in Posters and Banners from Pittsburgh Print companies to draw attention to it in the community.
The Peoples Gas Holiday Market is being held at Market Square from November 18 to December 23. Admission is free. To learn more about this event, call 412-566-4190.
