Festival gets town ready for Halloween hauntings

Zombie Fest 2014 is set to return to Pittsburgh next month. Presented by the ‘It's Alive Show’ and Straub Beer, it promises on its website to be bigger than previous years.

There will be plenty of music, food, beer, and vendors on hand to satisfy those present. There is also a zombie dance party and dance contest, a cosplay competition, and a zombie walk. In addition, guests can enter the Ugly Pageant, in which the most aesthetically unpleasing zombie will win a $500 cash prize.

There is a call for people who look like the cast of The Walking Dead to appear on the ‘It's Alive Show’ during the festival. Proceeds from the event will help to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. Those who bring a non-perishable food donation will get $2 off of the admission price.

To help encourage more people to attend, printing companies in the area may have been asked to supply items like Postcards and Brochures that make good reference points and visual reminders for locals.

Zombie Fest 2014 will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on October 11 from 12:00 noon - 10:00 pm. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children aged 6 to 12. Please note that the event is classed as PG13. Visit the It's Alive Show's Facebook page for more information.
