Pittsburgh horror movie fans have been offered an opportunity to enjoy some of their favorites on the big screen, and a special add-on activity may be on offer as well.
The Carrie Blast Furnaces will provide a spooky backdrop for a drive-in movie night featuring films that are spine-tingling but still family friendly. Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for kids, and from each ticket sold, $3 will be donated to a fund in support of conservation efforts at the Carrie Furnaces historical landmark.
Along with the movies, the guests will be treated to pre-movie activities. Anyone who would like to take a mini tour of the furnace is advised to arrive early, and the Fudge Farm Food Truck will supply an assortment of treats, both sweet and savory, to the crowd.
The organizers have added that as a bonus, they may be able to offer a ghost tour after the movies. More information about this will be released when the plans are confirmed. A flyer printing company will be able to aid in promoting a function like this to the community.
The Carrie Blast Furnaces site will be showing “The Bride of Frankenstein'' on Friday, October 29, while Saturday, October 30 will see “The Thing” hit the big screen. Gates will open to vehicles at 5:30 pm.
