Tigard dog joins hall of fame for service and dedication

The Animal Health Foundation of Oregon and the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association recently honored Darlin’, a Goldendoodle aged 13 years old, by inducting her into the Oregon Animal Hall of Fame. Darlin’ is a therapy dog and keeps Tigard resident Chuck Lamb company.

Nominated to the Hall of Fame by Dr. Roy Peterson, a retired veterinarian, and Dr. Jerry Cox of Canterbury Animal Hospital in Tigard, she was recognized in the category of professional/service, which are those animals who are specifically trained for assistance or service.

Darlin’ joined the home of Chuck and Zada Lamb when she was a puppy and they knew straight away that she would be a one-of-a-kind dog. Chuck started bringing her to Shriner's Hospital for Children in Portland within a year as he believed that she could allow the patients there to focus on her rather than on their conditions.

She became a hit with the patients and was requested to be brought to other hospitals. Lamb commented that Darlin’ has a lot of love to share with all the people she meets and tries to help people as much as possible.

Banner printing companies can be hired to create displays in these hospitals and throughout the community so that people can learn more about such accomplishments and their contributions to society.
