Residents of Tigard enjoy a fun time at local street fair

Tigard’s downtown core recently played host to another successful Tigard Street Fair.

Several of the streets in the location at which the event was being held were closed to vehicle traffic in order to make them friendlier for pedestrians. There was a Fanno Creek Trail walk, which followed the path’s two mile long route, and also a family-oriented bike ride. Once the ride was over, those who took part were invited to park their ride at one of the new colorfully painted racks that had been installed in the community.

Many people brought their pets along with them, and several of the businesses that took part had placed out bowls of cold water so animals could cool off. Officer Mike Powers with the Tigard Police had one of the members of the K-9 unit with him, and they greeted the public and answered any questions they had. Brochure printers can create pamphlets and other materials that law enforcement can give out during such an event that give more information about who they are and what they do.

The main stage featured community information and demonstrations by the local police, and the main stage gave a platform for area musicians to entertain the crowd. Along with this, there were costumed characters from Star Wars on hand for photo ops, a beer garden, locally made crafts, food, a bounce house, and displays of chalk art.
