Having already been axed three times this year, the latest date for the Portland fair is now the weekend of October 17th and 18th.
On Friday, October 16th, between 1:00 pm and 7:30 pm is when entry into the following department are due: floral and garden, photography, foods, fiber arts, and arts and crafts. Viewing hours for the public will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, and 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday. Pickup for exhibits will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday.
Flyer printing services are particularly helpful at getting the word out when events are postponed and rescheduled.
This year’s event will be limited to the Pavilion due to restrictions enacted due to the pandemic, as well as earlier reservations made for the outside areas. Larry Smith, FMCR board president, explained:
"This will be a much different event with respect to social distancing, disinfecting, and sanitation requirements."
He went on to explain that within the Pavilion, only traditional competitions will be held this year, and the number of people who can be within the building at a time will be restricted. Smith also said that all COVID guidelines would be strictly adhered to safeguard the health of everyone in attendance.
