At the center of the Jade District, developers Gorman & Company is set to begin work on the three-story 42,667-square-foot Jade Apartments between Interstate 205 and 82nd Avenue at 2905 S.E. 89th Avenue.
Gorman & Company’s Pacific Northwest Marketing President Kevin Kellogg told the Daily Journal of Commerce:
“What is really amazing about this project is that we were able to work with nonprofit APANO that’s been working for years in this neighborhood and had identified the site more than 10 years ago. We’re finally able to build housing on the site they wanted.”
Developments under construction are generally quick to put up signage with printing services often identifying the project and giving contact information for becoming a renter.
Apartments at The Jade will include 15 three-bedroom units, 11 two-bedroom units and 14 one-bedroom units. Most units will be reserved for households making no more than 60 percent of the average minimum income (AMI) with five units being set aside for those making no more than 30 percent of the AMI.
The apartment complex will include a community room positioned between two courtyards as well as an outdoor play area, a secure mail and package area, a community garden, secure bike room, on-site parking, and laundry rooms on each floor.
The building is expected to be completed and ready to open in early 2026.
