India Festival set for early August

The India Cultural Association (ICA) will once again, for its 29th year, host Oregon’s largest outdoor festival celebrating all things Indian right here in Portland.

A nonprofit, the ICA has as its mission to enhance Indian cultural awareness in the city. Established in 1980, the association has successfully brought the Portland Indian community together and provided a means for its members to reconnect with their roots.

Many nonprofits can raise their profile by adopting a Logo Design, which is something with which printing services can provide valuable assistance.

Each year, the ICA hosts the India Festival at Pioneer Courthouse Square in August to commemorate India’s Independence Day. In 2019, the festival drew a crowd of around 10,000 people and its size has increased each year it has been held. As such, it is expected to be even larger this year.

People of all ethnicities attend to get a first-hand experience of Indian culture, music, dance, food, and art, as well as learn about the long colorful history of this modern, diverse country.

There is no entry fee for the India Festival, although donations are appreciated and the India Cultural Association is always looking for sponsors to help cover the ever-increasing cost of security for the event and the Pioneer Square rental fee.

The Portland India Festival takes place 11:00 am to 8:30 pm on Sunday, August 6.
