The summer collegiate baseball organization, the West Coast League, canceled its 2020 season due to travel restrictions and other concerns connected to the outbreak. As a result, the Portland team and 11 other others found themselves in a pickle, so to speak. However, the Portland Pickles have found a workaround in the creation of the Wild Wild West League, which will be playing its games in July and August.
Every season, Print shops are contacted by various businesses to have them Print game schedules for local professional and college sports teams.
Joining the Pickles in their yet to be announced July – August condensed season will be the GreyWolves, Portland Gherkins and the West Linn Knights. A WWWL champion will be crowned and weekend tournaments will be played with teams from other regions.
In a release from the team Justin Barchus, the Pickles manager said:
“We can’t wait to show off the talent we’ve acquired this year and bring live sports back into the public domain.”
Although there will be no fans in the stands until the state and local agencies conclude that it is safe, every game will be broadcast for free and available on YouTube Live and Facebook Live.
Players with college eligibility who are interested in can contact the Pickles for a tryout.
