Applications for a portion of the available $193,000 funds available from the 2021 Community Placement Grants are currently being accepted.
The grants that will be awarded range between $5,000 and $25,000 and do not require matching funds. Applicants have until September 28 at noon to turn in their written responses or video in reply to the seven application questions.
Those wishing to apply must either be a community-based nonprofit organization or be partnered with a federally approved, state certified nonprofit or public agency to serve as a fiscal sponsor. The sponsor must also be able to contract with Metro and possess a federal employer ID number.
Nonprofits frequently turn to professional printing services to create Brochures that outline the services they provide.
The minimum requirements to qualify for a grant include that the activities to funded by the grant must be within the Portland Urban Growth Boundary. Also, if a funded activity is to be held in a public place, a plan must be laid out to obtain from the local jurisdiction the appropriate permits. Grant recipients and fiscal sponsors must have insurance coverage for the event. Finally, the mission and ongoing work of grantees seeking operating support must align with the Community Placemaking four objectives.
Awards will be announced in early January and funds will be available to grantees in early March. Grant-funded activities have a deadline of June 30, 2022 to be completed.
