A Medford area historic site is about to start up its summer schedule of Thursday evenings, and the public is encouraged to stop by and learn about the region's past.
The Southern Oregon Historical Society (SOHS) Hanley Farm Museum offers living history lessons throughout the summer months, and there are activities on offer to please guests of almost any age. The site is the former home of the Hanley family, and many of its contents date back to the 1800s.
The location will be open to the public who would like to stroll the grounds or have a picnic, and there will be an opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the gardens. Tours of the home will be on offer, and these will be led by a docent in period costume. Along with all of this, visitors will be able to learn about the First Nation’s peoples who occupied the land before the arrival of the Europeans.
When offering a self-guided tour, many organizers choose to distribute pamphlets and other items prepared by a brochure printing company. These will give the visitors information about the site as well as different items of interest on their tour.
The staff and volunteers at SOHS Hanley Farm will be welcoming the public on Thursday evenings from June 2 until the season wraps up on September 1. More details about various activities and timings are available on its website.
