Era-defining album to be performed in Medford

A performance of Pink Floyd’s legendary album The Dark Side of The Moon is coming to Medford’s Holly Theatre this May.

The cover band Classic Albums Live will be helming the performance, creating a track-by-track recreation of the entire 1973 original.

At the concert, each and every sound will be recreated by live by the instrumentalists, with no samples, computers or background sound layers being used. For instance, the vibrato-heavy gospel-inspired vocals on the track “The Great Gig in the Sky” will be recreated by a live singer.

Many musical outlets have hailed The Dark Side of The Moon as one of — if not the greatest — albums of all time. For instance, in a poll of readers of Classic Rock, they rated it the No. 1 album ever. Runner-ups in the top-10 include Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite For Destruction, Led Zeppelin’s II and IV and The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Though Pink Floyd bassist and songwriter Roger Waters and guitarist David Gilmour are still active to this day, a schism between the bandmates has made a full-blown reunion a rarity these days.

Tribute concerts like this may choose to use banner printing to create stage decorations or Signs for venues and vendors.

Classic Albums Live Performs Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon is happening on May 27 at 8 pm at the Holly Theatre at 226 W 6th St in Medford.
