The Traveling Wilburys Revue is coming to a venue in Medford this summer.
The “Revue” part of the group’s name is indicative of the fact that it is a cover band for a super-group formed in the 1980s called The Traveling Wilburys, with five frontmen: George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Lynne, the latter two of whom are the only surviving members.
The music from all the members of the entire lineup is still being celebrated to this day. Case in point, the Revue cover band not only plays The Traveling Wilburys’ songs but also the hits from each individual member.
Audience members can expect to hear classics such as Orbison’s “Pretty Woman,” the Harrison-penned Beatles song “Here Comes the Sun,” Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone,” Petty’s “Won’t Back Down,” and the Lynne-penned Electric Light Orchestra song “Don’t Bring Me Down.”
The Traveling Wilburys, which was formed during a B-Sides session in Dylan’s studio in 1988, had their own string of hits, including “Last Night,” “Handle With Care,” and “End Of The Line,” all of which will also be played during the Revue concert.
