The city of Lake Oswego, with the help of ETC Institute as a consultant, conducted its third biannual community survey. This survey was to gauge the perceptions of members of the community of the quality of life in town, their satisfaction with services of local government, and other aspects of the city.
The survey was conducted with a random sample of 400 residents that demographically represented the city, who generally provided favorable feedback. Ninety-seven percent of those surveyed said the quality of life is good or excellent while 95 percent were satisfied with public safety and the ability to raise children. The ratings of good or excellent were 91 percent for the quality of the parks and 88 percent for library services. Residents gave the city above-average ratings in every one of the 27 categories this year, which is an improvement over the 2021 results.
Among the other items where the city received high marks were satisfaction with police and fire services, the quality of public art and events, and the maintenance of parks in the city.
Local Print shops can quickly share such survey results with the community through eye-catching Flyers and printed materials.
Councilors were pleased with the results but said there are some areas in which the city should strive for even greater satisfaction from residents and continue to make improvements in those areas.
