Art exhibit and sale to be held in Lake Oswego area

ARTMART, run by the Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO), is about to return for five weeks.

It will be at the Marylhurst Commons bookstore building on Furman Drive in Marylhurst. Local Print shops often assist in spreading the word about such unique exhibits to the community with Flyers, Brochures, and other printed materials.

ARTMART will feature drawings, paintings, ceramics, prints, sculptures, photographs, fiber art, and mixed media, all of which will be available for purchase. All the pieces are donated or created by residents or artists of Lake Oswego.

Proceeds from ARTMART will go to support the ACLO, which is a non-profit organization that runs the public sculpture program of the Gallery Without Walls and host regularly scheduled exhibits at its location on A Avenue.

According to a press release, ARTMART originated as an idea from longtime Lake Oswego resident and dedicated ACLO volunteer, committee member, and former board member Bonnie Cartwright. Recognizing that many friends and neighbors accumulate unwanted artwork during moves, downsizing, redecorating, or spring cleaning, Cartwright proposed collecting donated pieces and hosting a sale to raise funds for ACLO. The concept quickly gained traction and proved to be a resounding success.

ARTMART will be open from today (January 9) through Friday, February 6. The hours are 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
