The city’s Foothills District Framework Plan is making progress, with a meeting planned for next week. The plan outlines how the neighborhood of the Foothills should grow and evolve over time.
The project is now undergoing an extensive public engagement campaign that includes outreach and identification of stakeholders, interviews with developers, work sessions with the Planning Commission, study sessions with City Council, focus groups with residents of Lake Oswego, and meetings with both a Technical Advisory Committee and a Community Advisory Committee.
A detailed technical assessment of existing conditions in the neighborhood, including an analysis of constraints and opportunities, has been completed by the project team. A project Story Map has also been created with survey questions that offers a chance for members of the community to provide their input.
The Community Advisory Committee will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, February 10 to discuss those principles that will provide information for the development of circulation scenarios and conceptual land use. Held at 6:00 pm, it will be a hybrid meeting for participation both in person and remotely. The in-person part will take place at the Adult Community Center on G Avenue in Lake Oswego.
An Open House event will take place on Thursday, February 26 at 6:00 pm and will also be at the Adult Community Center. News of such important opportunities for providing input on planning projects can be disseminated throughout a city with flyer printing.
