The Heart of the Valley Runners Club is hosting its 17th Annual Resolution Run in Corvallis’ Avery Park this January.
The event includes two separate courses, with the option to either run or walk. One course is a 5K and another is a 2K.
With the intention of fostering community, entertainment and staying active in the new year, the free event includes a post-run snack gathering with beverages by Coffee Culture and eats by Kinetic Bagel.
Made possible in part through the HOTV Runners Grant Program via community donations, participants can either register online before the event or sign up on the day of the race. People who have registered online will receive email updates leading up to the events.
No dogs or bicycles are allowed but strollers for babies are welcome.
HOTV Runners encourage participants to donate to The Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center, a community resource hub for people experiencing homelessness.
The 2K run makes a simple loop around Avery Park. The 5K route begins at Avery Park, then cuts east through Pioneer Park and Shawala Point before heading northbound on Southwest 1st Street, turning around at Madison and ending at Avery Park.
Running events like this may choose to use banner printing to create vendor Signs and finish lines.
The HOTV Runners' 17th Annual Run/Walk 5K/2K is happening on January 1 at 10 am at Avery Park/Thompson Picnic Shelter at 1310 SW Avery Park Dr in Corvallis.
