Homegrown jazz trio to serenade Corvallis

The PRAx performing arts center at Oregon State University in Corvallis is inviting the BMW Jazz Trio to fill the halls with music.

The performance is part of Music à la Carte, a program presented by OSU’s College of Liberal Arts and the School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts.

The BMW Jazz Trio is a familiar face to the venue as it was the premiere performing group of a newly renovated section of the venue two years ago. The band members are Ben Metschler, Steve Willis, and Ryan Biesack.

The band has made a splash in the region in recent years, performing at local eateries, micro-breweries, bars, cafes, and festivals in the Willamette Valley. Recently, BMW Jazz Trio played at The Old World Deli in Corvallis. The group is known for playing original songs as well as hidden gems and jazz standards.

The Music à la Carte program has been active at OSU since at least 2012, providing free music for students, faculty and members of the public. It is funded through student fees, philanthropic donors and PRAx. This year’s program takes a new locale in the Toomey Lobby.

Musical performances like these may choose to use printing services for merchandising.

People can catch the BMW Jazz Trio in the Toomey Lobby of the OSU PRAx arts center at 170 SW 15th Street in Corvallis. The performance is at noon on Wednesday, April 2.
