An upcoming holiday event will give Corvallis residents a chance to learn about German culture.
The 3rd Annual German School Holiday Fest welcomes everyone with special activities, a silent auction, and the chance to complete some holiday shopping.
Planned activities include a chance to spend time with the Deutsch-Schule-Corvallis (DSC) organization enjoying a light lunch, cakes, and coffee. Visitors will have a chance to purchase gifts from local vendors and try out the language with those at the German Table. Students and teachers from the DSC will be on hand to discuss the events and classes held at the school. The school offers a “total immersion” program to help people learn German.
Music is also part of the day, and will play all afternoon, including German “Weihnachtslieder” (Christmas carols) and classical music.
A silent auction will give attendees a chance to win wreaths, Christmas trees, Gift Certificates, coffee gift baskets, wine gift baskets, cuckoo clocks, and more. Non-winners will still have a chance to purchase items such as Books, beeswax candles, fabric, cards, garden art jewelry, and holiday goods.
The German School Holiday Fest is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, from 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The silent auction is from 12.00 pm until 3.30 pm, and the venue is the Lounge of the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. When local events like this are planned, organizers often use flyer printing to create announcements advertising them.
