An upcoming Corvallis event will help participants work up an appetite for the Thanksgiving feast.
The Corvallis Turkey Trot is for walkers, runners, leashed dogs, and children in strollers—anyone, really, who would like to come out on Thanksgiving and kickstart the holiday with a fun run. The planned route leads through Corvallis’s Willamette Park, as well as the Crystal Lake Sports Fields. There are three distances available, a 10K, 5K, and the “Little Gobblers.”
Participants can pick up their packets ahead of time at C3-Corvallis Community Center on NW Tyler Street, or on race day.
The event begins at Crystal Lake Sports Field, with last minute registrations from 6.30 am until 7.30 am. Late packet pickup will end at 7.30 am.
The first race is the 10K. Runners will line up at 8.00 am, with those intending to walk the course going to the back. The race starts at 8.05 am.
At 8.10 am, the 5K runners and walkers will line up. Again, those who plan to walk, as well as people with dogs and strollers, are asked to go to the back. The 5K begins at 8.15 am.
Finally, it’s the Little Gobblers turn. They will go to the pre-race zone and stretch from 9.15 am until 9.25 am. They line up at 9.25 am, and start their race, a 1K, at 9.30 am.
Thanksgiving itself, November 24, is race day. Organizers of outdoor events like these can use banner printing to create weather-resistant course signage.
