Two entirely different runs on offer in Toledo

Toledo runners have both online and in-person running events over the next few months.

For those wishing to run virtually, the 2020 Octoberfest Virtual 5K Run Walk Challenge will go online October 1 at noon. Runners can choose a location and time to complete the distance and upload results on the event’s website.

This year’s swag includes an official Tyvek race bib, finisher’s medal (a 4.5-inch bottle opener), and a finisher shirt for those wishing to purchase them. The shirts come with a light blue, white, green, and blue event Logo Design, or gray with a beer stein and pretzel graphic design. On October 1, swag and race packets will begin shipping. Results must be sent in to receive medals.

The 2020 Oktoberfest Virtual 5K Run Walk-Toledo will go online from October 1 to November 7 at 11:30 am. Event hashtags are #virtualrunchallenge and #OktoberfestVirtual5k.

On Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26, ProMedica will host an in-person Dave’s Turkey Chase 5k, One-mile Gobble Wobble and a Kids’ Turkey Chase.

The course will be a loop through downtown Toledo. It starts on Summit Street and loops back at Bush Street.

Swag includes long sleeved shirts and commemorative Mugs. Awards will go to winners in all the standard categories plus 15 age divisions. Proceeds will go to Hannah’s Socks and Cherry Street Mission. The start time will be 9:00 am.
