Toledo readies for Old West End festival

The 49th annual Old West End Historic Festival is being planned for early June.

The 2022 King Wamba Carnival parade will officially kick off the festival on a Saturday morning at 10:00 am. Floats, horses, marching units and motor vehicles (vintage and art cars, golf carts, mopeds, and motorcycles) will be marching with elected officials and political candidates along the 1.8-mile route.

The parade route will begin at Collins and Robinwood. It will continue through the Old West End on Robinwood and proceed on to Bancroft and Collingwood. The march will conclude at Woodruff and Collingwood. Parade entries check in between 8:30 am and 9:45 am next to the Glenwood Elementary School at the corner of Robinwood and Nesslewood.

The Art Fair will take place on the Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on the lawn around the Glass Pavilion. The fair will include entertainment, historic home tours, and children’s activities. A Market Place will run concurrently between Collingwood and Scottwood.

The 5K Old West End Stampede will begin at 1838 Parkwood Avenue on the Sunday, and wind through the historic tree-lined community. Registration ($30 adults or $20 for children 12 years and younger) begins at 7:30 am and the race will begin at 9:00 am. Swag will include event T-Shirts with the event Logo Design. Two current Toledo Symphony Classics Series Subscriptions will go to the winners.

The Old West End Festival is scheduled for Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 5.
