National Museum of the Great Lakes, 1701 Front Street, will be holding a Putt-Putt Freighter Golf: Hole-in-One Challenge at the end of August, and an H2Oh! Gala & Silent Auction in late September.
The Hole-in-One Challenge will be aboard the Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship. Visitors may take a couple of swings on the custom-built putting greens. Anyone getting a hole-in-one will receive a special prize and be entered into the drawing for a museum membership. This year, the museum has added a second hole. The greens will be open from Thursday, August 25 until Sunday, September 11. Access will be free with Museum Ship admission during museum hours.
On Saturday, September 24, the Toledo museum will hold its annual H2Oh! fundraiser. Admission will be $100 per guest and will include cocktails, food stations, and valet parking. Attendees may also view the new temporary exhibit “Queen of the Lakes,” bid in the live and silent auctions, and check out who won in the Luck of the Lakes raffle drawing.
The 2022 Luck of the Lakes Raffle Grand Prize winner will receive an 11-Day Great Lakes Cruise, second place will bag the Ultimate Great Lakes Exploration Day, and third place gets 10 tickets for the 2023 raffle.
Winners of grand prizes like these often take pictures of their cruises to local Stationery printers to be included in family newsletters and yearly Calendars.
H2Oh! will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at the Historic ProMedica Steam Plant, 100 Madison Avenue.
