Northwest Ohio Rib Off will round out Toledo area events for July.
National rib contest competitors will include Fine Smoke BBQ, Cowboy’s BBQ and Rib Company, Porky Chicks BBQ, BG’s Main Event, Austin’s Texas Lightning BBQ, and Armadillo’s Rib & BBQ Co. Local entrants will be Smokey’s BBQ Roadhouse, O’Henry’s Kitchen on Wheels, and Deet’s BBQ.
Friday’s kick-off will have free admission from noon until 2:00 pm, and the night’s headliner will be Cheap Trick. The Sedonas will be the opening act.
A cornhole tournament will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, and the event will be free from noon until 2:00 pm. The opening act will be SIXFORTY1, and Walker Hayes will perform beginning at 8:00 pm.
Sunday will be the Family Day. Gates will open at noon and admission will be $5 per family. Face painting, a petting zoo, and a bounce house will be in the kid's zone. At noon, Traeger Grill will give a demonstration, and the Celebrity Judge Rib Tasting will begin at 2:00 pm. An AC/DC tribute band, Thunderstruck, will perform from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Fans of famous groups such as AC/DC often go to the original band’s website to purchase merchandise featuring the band’s Logo Design so they can wear items to a tribute band’s shows.
The Northwest Ohio Rib Off will take place on July 29th through July 31st at the Lucas County Fairgrounds, 1406 Key Street, Maumee.
