For those who enjoy a good polka, Holy Toledo Polka Days will be a harbinger of spring as it comes to town for four-days in early April.
A party on the first night will be held at the Blarney Event Center from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Thursday, April 7. Admission will be $10. The Tin Can Bar (at the corner of Washington and Huron) will have a free Jammin’ Polka Party the day after from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Polka festivities for Friday and Saturday evenings will be in the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel Mosaic Ballroom where polka aficionados can display their talents on the 40’ by 40’ dance floor.
On Friday, from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am, the ballroom will feature Energy, DynaBrass, and Lenny Gomulka & Chicago Push.
Saturday’s line-up from 1:00 pm to 1:00 am will be Polish Connection, John Gora & Gorale, DynaBrass, Michael Costa & the Beat, and Polka Country Musicians.
The finale, sponsored by the Toledo Area Polka Society, will be the Holy Toledo Sunday Dance at the Oak Shade Grove Hall, 3624 Seaman Road, Oregon, Ohio, held Sunday, April 10 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Michael Costa & the Beat will provide the music.
