Toledo Zoo and Aquarium has a full schedule over November and December.
On Thursday, November 17 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, those over 21 are invited to bring their antlers, red noses, and Santa hats to the zoo’s annual Lights Before Christmas preview night called the Brewdolph Bash. Guests will have the opportunity to stroll through the Zoo, enjoy souvenir cups filled with the event’s signature drink, dueling pianos, Skittlebots, and holiday characters.
Lights Before Christmas will open November 18 and continue until December 31st. Over one million twinkling lights and more than 200 illuminated animal images, as well as the Big Tree with its 85 feet of more than 35,000 LED bulbs, will light the zoo. There will also be a Winter Village with its ice slide, live animals, hot chocolate, and homemade fudge.
Ice carving demonstrations will be Thursday afternoons in December, and a Holiday Wreath Making workshop will take place Sunday, December 4 and Sunday December 11 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the garden. Winter camps will run December 28, 29, and 30.
Polar Paws & Santa Claws Holiday 5k and a Kids’ Cub run for kids up to age 12 have been scheduled for December 11. Participants will receive tech-friendly gloves, collectable cups and finisher medals featuring this year’s Polar Paws & Santa Claws graphic design, bibs, and chip timing. The 5k begins at 4:00 pm and the Cub Run will be at 3:00 pm.
