What's Happening in Maumee, OH…

The 55th annual Crosby Festival of the Arts, the oldest juried art festival in Ohio that takes place outdoors, will be located in a nature and garden setting in late June. Over 15,000 guests attend every year.

Many local artists skilled in media such as wood, sculpture, photography, painting, mixed media, jewelry, glass, fiber, and ceramics are busily submitting four images (three of their original work and one of their booths) to the panel of 15 judges.

Out of about 300 entries, 200 will be selected to attend the show and sell at the festival. Previous year’s winners are invited to return.

Many artists that enter juried art festivals like this usually have business card printing done before the event so they will have updated information to pass on to interested passers-by.

A cash prize will be awarded to the overall best of show and to the top three winners in each medium. The festival will have live music, food and beverages available for purchase, and children’s activities.

Proceeds will go to Toledo Grows, an organization with a mission to educate Toledo residents about growing nutritious food by maintaining an active urban farm and supporting community gardens.

This year’s Crosby Festival of the Arts will take place from June 25 through 27 at the Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Drive during regular visitor hours.
