The Annual Waterfowl Festival will be taking place later in September. The day will be replete with numerous outdoor activities such as archery and canoe rides.
Champion hunting retrievers and their owners will be giving demonstrations sponsored by the Ohio Hunting Retriever Club. Attendees are invited to bring their own dogs to see if they will make good retrievers. Those dogs that pass the test will receive ribbons.
Local Boy Scout troop 131 will have food for sale including homemade donuts.
Maumee Bay carvers will be creating items that will range from unadorned hunting style decoys to unique ornate items. Guests may wish to ask their favorite carvers for their Business Cards so they can get in touch with them for lessons or custom carving. Visitors will test their duck knowledge by playing a waterfowl identification game.
Ducks will also be the focus of Northwest Ohio Ducks Unlimited as representatives share their knowledge of duck hunting, and wetland conservation.
The Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge will also be discussing and handing out information regarding wetland protection and restoration.
The staff of the Ohio Divisions of Wildlife and Watercraft will be on hand to pass out information and discuss waterfowl hunting, gear, boats and hunter education.
World champion quality mounted animals and waterfowl will be displayed by Artistic Touch Taxidermy.
Waterfowl Festival will be coming to Pearson Metropark’s Pearson lakes area, 4600 Starr Avenue, Oregon September 9th from 10 am until 3 pm.
