Blarney Irish Pub, 601 Monroe Street, is putting on its annual Blarney Shamrockin’ Shuffle in mid-March, and attempting to get into the record Books in the process.
Over 2,000 runners/walkers are expected to don sports kilts and participate in the Shuffle. This year, the event is looking to make a Guinness World Record for the “Largest Kilt Race.” The run will cost $35.
All participants will be chipped-timed and custom sport kilts featuring the event’s Logo Design will be handed out when packets are picked up. All runners must wear their kilts during the event. Any kilts not picked up at the race day pickup by 8:00 pm will be given to those registering late. Kilts can be purchased by non-registrants and multiple kilts can be purchased at that time.
This will be a nighttime event, so runners will be bringing green lighting and glow sticks. Awards go to the fastest and to the best-dressed, so runners will want to come in their leprechaun best.
After the race, everyone is invited to stick around for the ongoing Irish party taking place inside the Blarney Irish Pub party tent in downtown Toledo. A live band and a local DJ will perform until the party winds down.
The Shamrock Shuffle will begin at 8:00 pm Friday, March 13 and the course will remain open for an hour. Runners must be 21 or over to participate.
