Toledo is ushering in the holiday season by lighting up around town.
Hensville Lights is illuminating buildings in downtown Toledo along St. Clair Avenue between Washington and Monroe Streets, with 200,000 lights. The Fleetwood building is once again glowing with its annual dancing light show. Not to be outdone, the 45-foot Christmas tree in Hensville Park gleams with over 10,000 lights of its own. The event will run daily from 5:00 pm until midnight through Sunday, January 4th, 2020.
Families that take their Christmas photos in front of displays like these often take them early enough in the season to have them made into Holiday Cards at local Stationery printers or Print shops.
Lights before Christmas at the Toledo Zoo will display over a million twinkling lights including over 200 lighted animated animal displays all over the zoo.
There will also be an Ice Slide where individuals or couples can fly down the ice path and the Arctic Blast snowball launcher will be available for $3 for three blasts. The Holiday Railway will be open on weekends and an ice carving demonstration will take place in the Main Plaza Thursdays at 6:00 pm.
Little ones can visit with Santa when he arrives by either zip line or train at 4:30 pm daily in the Africa area’s Arctic Encounter. Lights before Christmas is currently running until December 31.
