The Mercy Health 2018 Glass City Marathon will be coming to Toledo in a couple of weeks.
In addition to the marathon, the event will have the Yark five-person Marathon Relay, the Medical Mutual 5K, the Owens Corning Half Marathon, the Findley Davies Kids Marathon and a Health & Wellness Expo.
Marathon racers will receive pacing services, chip timing services, finisher certificates, Promotional Products such as short-sleeve technical shirts, commemorative finishers’ glass Mugs and keepsake medallions, and post-race massages. A results book will be mailed after the run. Registration will also get the runners into the post-race party.
The course is fast, and runners will be assigned to one of five start corrals depending on the their estimated finish times. Runners’ bibs will designate which corral they will enter.
Walkers and runners can opt for the Owen Corning Half Marathon that will offer a route through Old Orchard neighborhoods, Ottawa Hills and the UT campus.
The five-person Marathon Relay will be five people running the distance amounting to a total marathon. Each runner will run a designated distance and hand off the belt with a scoring chip to the next member of their team.
The Glass City 5K will also take place on the weekend, as will the Kids’ Marathon.
The 2018 Glass City Marathon will be April 22 starting on the University of Toledo’s west side on Secor Road. Wheelers start at 7:00 am and all others at 7:02 am.
