Thanks to the generosity of Toledo citizens, a large number of needy children in and around Northwest Ohio will wake up Christmas morning to toys and presents under the Christmas tree.
Thousands of toys were collected during the Hope for the Holidays drive-thru donation day on Friday, November 30. In fact, figures show that more than 6,800 new toys were collected from the all-day event, as well as from the gifts that were dropped off in the weeks before the event at the 13abc studios. Donations started pouring in as early as 5:00 am and continued coming in until 6:30 pm.
Fundraising activities, drives, and charity events hosted by organizations or other individuals often use flyer printing services provided by local printing companies to spread word about the activity within the community and raise awareness about the cause. Poster printing may also be used to communicate with the public and encourage participation.
Many volunteers were on hand the day of the Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive to collect donations. Volunteers included team mascots, local elected leaders, the Toledo Zoo, K-100 Radio, the Salvation Army, and the Imagination Station. Kristian Brown and Diana Larson from 13abc and Chief Meteorologist, Jay Berschback, all reported live from the event.
Local businesses and organizations that joined together to help make the holidays a little brighter for many families included 13abc, Gallon, the Salvation Army, Takacs, Wal-Mart, Boissoneult & Scaffer, Vito’s Pizza, and Subs and the Hylant Group.
