Toledo will soon be treated to the annual Fire + Ice Festival. The three-day outdoor event, presented by Laibe Electric/Technology, Buckeye Broadband and iHeart Radio, will a conglomeration of performances, activities and demonstrations
The ice portion of the event will be ice skating, ice sculptures and
video games played on a big outdoor screen. The fire and warmth part
will consist of fire throwers, hot chocolate stations and a heated tent.
Stilt walkers, magicians, face painters, and Laurel’s Princess Parties’ characters will be meandering through the site. Live entertainment and music will be available all during the event. Kids will get the opportunity to go through a mobile escape room, try a zip line, and create crafts. They may also want to have their pictures taken with their favorite Princess characters. The photos can go to Print shops for poster printing.
The Great Downtown Toledo Soup Cook-Off will take place February 23rd from noon until 3:00 pm. Over 13 local downtown restaurants will participate this year and ticket holders can taste soup samples and vote for their favorite entries. Proceeds from the cook-off will go to Friends of Lucas County Children’s Services.
The festival will close Saturday night with a giant firework display.
Fire + Ice Festival will be February 21st from 5 pm until 7, February 22nd from 5:00 pm until 9 and February 23 from noon until 9 pm in Promenade Park, 250 Water Street.
