Halloween is coming soon and the Toledo Symphony is once again presenting its annual Halloween Spooktacular as part of the Anderson Foundation Family Series.
Before the concert, little ones will be treated to pre-concert activities in the Grand Lobby. Among the activities will be the ever-popular instrument petting zoo. Children will want to wear their Halloween costumes so they can walk across the stage during the costume parade.
Under the baton of the symphony’s music director Alain Trudel, the evening’s program will consist of well-known spooky classics such as excerpts from Engelbert Humperdinck’s beloved opera Hansel and Gretel, Modest Mussorgsky’s hauntingly beautiful Night on Bald Mountain, the theme from the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and the traditional Halloween classic Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suit No. 1 Opus 46: 4 In the Hall of the Mountain King.
Other pieces that will round out the performance will be John Williams’ Cantina Band from the original ‘Star Wars’ movie and the orchestral version of the Ghostbusters Theme Song.
Tickets are $25, and companies in the Toledo area may consider giving tickets to this event as Corporate Gifts.
Halloween Spooktacular will be Sunday, October 28 in the Toledo Cultural Arts Center’s Valentine Theatre at 410 Adams Street. The event will begin at 3:00 pm.
