Old West End will open its neighborhood with its 47th Annual Old West End Festival early in June.
The three-day event will include entertainment, an art fair, yard sales, a 5k Run/Walk, and tours of the five of the area’s historic houses. There will also be a parade and a marketplace.
The 2018 King Wamba Carnival Parade will start things off. Dance squads, street theater actors, drum lines, music groups, horses, and assorted unique individuals will make up this eccentric parade. Parade units are no doubt currently getting their banner printing done.
The Arboretum will feature chamber pop, a Teletoon group, and an indie folk group on the first evening. On Saturday, the line-up will include progressive rock, bluegrass, country blues, classic rock, and classic adult contemporary. Sunday’s music will be a brass quintet, modern folk, and dance rock.
Art Fair Stage will offer mid-Eastern dancers, jazz, rock, acoustic guitars, Broadway hits, and R&B.
The OWE 5k Stampede will begin and end at Toledo Museum of Art on the corner of Monroe and Parkwood Avenue. The USATF certified course will take runners thorough historic Old West End.
Vendors in the Market Place where will be hawking colorful, summer-themed merchandise. The event will also have the juried Art Fair area, a children’s activity tent, and a food, music, and beverage block.
The festival will be June 1, 2, and 3 in Toledo's Old West End.
