Local venues feature summer music series

Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre and Toledo Botanical Garden will begin their summer music series in July.

Music Under the Stars Concert Series at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre will highlight community bands on Sundays. These concerts will be free and begin at 7:30 pm.

Starting July 4th with the Genoa American Legion Band, the event’s band lineup will be Maumee Community Band on the 11th, the Polish American Concert Band on the 18th, and Cedar Creek Church on July 25th.

August 1st the night’s performance will be by the Cakewalkin’ Jass Band. The following week will be the Forte Music School and the series will end August 15th with the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra.

Jazz in the Garden at the Toledo Botanical Garden will present 10 regional artists on Thursday evenings during July, August and September.

Toledo Jazz Orchestra will kick off the series on July 8th followed by Chefs of Dixieland, Kim Buehler & Friends and the Ramona Collins Quintet.

In August the series will feature Gene Parker Quintet, Zen Zadravek Quartet, the Mike Lorenz Trio and Travis Aukermans’ Spruce & Mahogany Trio.

September’s groups will be Chris Buzzelli’s Quartet and the Maloney Quintet.

Reservations are not required and the $10 entrance fee can be purchased at the gate. Guests are advised to bring their own blankets and chairs.
