Located just a few miles from Toledo, Perrysburg will again host the annual American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk to be held at Levis Commons.
As residents and businesses most likely attend and promote the event through Banners and Flyers, event organizers are busy raising awareness. Each year over 200,000 are diagnosed with breast cancer, and the American Cancer Society makes sure that those battling the disease are not battling it alone.
Funds from the event support research and assist with providing services to ensure early detection. One example of the services provided is the society’s Road to Recovery program that will ensure transportation for people who are not able to get to their treatments. They also offer a place to stay for people who do not live near their treatment centers through Hope Lodge.
Last year’s 3.1 mile walk raised over 130,000 through donations provided by walkers and supporters. The event is family friendly and free to participate in, and those wishing to enter may register on the society’s website, which also accepts online donations.
The walk will take place at Levi’s Commons this Saturday, May 6. Participants can register in advance or on the morning of the walk at 8:00 am. Hundreds of participants are expected and the walk will begin at 9:30 am.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Banners
