The city of Stow will be offering its leaf pickup program this fall over a period of six weeks, beginning at the end of this month.
Residents are to have their leaves placed in piles or rows no more than five feet from the curb so that they can be reached by the leaf collection tube. There will be no staff available to rake the leaves, so it is important that the leaves are able to be easily picked up by the tube.
John Pribonic, mayor of Stow, expressed his happiness that this service can be provided to residents once again this year. He said the city is doing its best to provide the same level of service as it has done in previous years, so residents are being asked to rake their leaves so they can be picked up easily by the truck. Residents need to ensure their leaves are by the curb by 7:00 am on the Monday of their scheduled week. Print shops are often hired to create maps of districts in which leaves are to be picked up.
There will be leaf pickup next week from Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30 for District 3; Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 5 for District 1; and Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13 for District 2. A second round of pickup dates is still to be scheduled.
