Stow to commemorate bridge renaming

Later this month, the naming of The John Lewis Memorial Bridge will be commemorated by the city of Stow with a dedication ceremony and a march across the bridge.

The march will begin from the parking lot of T.G.I. Friday at Steels Corners. It will then go across the bridge, and end for the dedication at the Stow Municipal Court.

John Pribonic, mayor of Stow, said that John Lewis was an important person, and the dedication of the bridge is one way that the city can honor his legacy as a supporter of equality, and the commitment of the city to support diversity and inclusion. More information about such contributions to a city can be provided with various kinds of printing services.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative of the city of Stow is promoting three events, this dedication being one of them. The Silver Springs Lodge has been renamed The Leona Farris Lodge in honor of a former resident of Stow. The dedication of this renaming will take place on Thursday September 16. Homage will also be paid to the first black residents of Stow with the opening of the Summa Health Stow-Kent Medical Center, which was built on the site of their homes that once stood there.

The commemoration will take place on Saturday, July 17, with the march beginning at 9:00 am and the dedication taking place at 9:45 am.
