Stow begins work on two major roadway projects
Two important Local Public Agency projects of the Ohio Department of Transportation have been awarded by the city of Stow. These are part of CROSSROADS 91/59, which is a major undertaking to improve roadways in the city.
Perram Electric, Inc. was awarded the contract for the State Route 59, Kent Road Traffic Signal Project at a cost of $2.2 million. Test excavation has begun at nine signalized intersections along Kent Road. The work will then start at Sycamore Drive and move east to Fishcreek Road for several weeks after that. The city has said this step is an important part of upgrading the traffic signals along the road.
Karvo Companies, Inc. was awarded the contract for the State Route 91, Darrow Road Reconstruction Project at a cost of $12,9 million. Work on this project will begin just north of the Post Office and then make its way toward Norton Road. South of State Route 59 to the Munroe Falls Corporation line will be the final segment of the project. This work will take place along with the replacement of the bridge deck of State Route 91 in Munroe Falls over the Cuyahoga River.
Local print shops can help keep the community aware of the progress made on such projects with flyers and other printed materials.
Both projects are expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
