Spooky stories and weird folk-tales will be coming to the Stow area, when Wandering Aesthetics presents ‘Boogers, Witches and Haints: Spooky Stories from Appalachia’, a world premiere to be held in Kent.
Taking place at Standing Rock Cultural Arts, Kyle Jozsa, a former resident of Stow and a master storyteller, takes audiences with him on a journey through Appalachia's folktales.
In 2013, Jozsa and his co-artistic director hiked 2,185 miles on the Appalachian Trail, and came back with stories they had collected on the journey. These include campfire stories of hauntings, spooks, and witches that Jozsa heard on his hike. He has taken these, as well as real life experiences, and crafted them into a solo performance to be presented at the arts center.
The show has some graphic elements and language that might make it unfit for children younger than 10, but Wandering Aesthetics will leave that decision to parents. The arts center is on Water Street in Kent, about four miles from Stow. Tickets are available on line and at the door, though seating is limited so advance purchase is recommended.
The world premiere of ‘Boogers, Witches and Haints’ will run at 8:00 pm on July 24, 25, 31, and August 1. Jozsa and others at the theater could work with a poster printing company to create spooky Posters to post around the area, advertising the show.Get a Free Quote for Posters
