Summer symposium at Edison State for HR professionals

Edison State Community College’s Workforce Development & Work-Based Learning Office will be holding a Summer Symposium for HR Professionals at its Piqua Campus this August featuring keynote speaker Christina Ryan Claypool.

Claypool’s, whose address will be titled “A Conversation with Christina – Inspiring Thoughts for HR Professionals”, has been a contributor to the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book series five times over. A speaker and freelance journalist, she has authored several Books, including “Secrets of the Pastor’s Wife: A Novel” and is a former producer and reporter for west-central Ohio WTLW-TV 44.

Among the goals of this one-day conference are providing attendees with ideas on how to handle current employee challenges, as well as future ones concerning strategies for recruitment and retention, and fostering employee well-being.

Also on the schedule are Cynthia Crews on “Neurodiversity at Work”; “Employment Law Updates & Other Things for Employers to Keep in Mind” presented by Colleen Gong; and Katy Zimpfer’s “Talking Talent”. There will also be a panel discussion on the topic of “Talent Development and Retention Strategies”.

Sponsored by the HR Association of Western Ohio, the conference will take place 8:30 am – 3:30 pm on August 10, which is a Thursday. The cost is $99 per person and interested parties can register here. Check-in will commence at 8:00 am on the day of the conference.
