A committee of volunteers in conjunction with the City of Piqua will be hosting a free event known as The Longest Table, which is a combination of a picnic and a potluck.
Attendees will bring their own food and, if they wish, a dish to share, while organizers will be providing tables and chairs. People can bring their own homemade food, or they may take advantage of specials on food and drink to-go from local restaurants via Piqua’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area.
Both banner and flyer printing services are helpful in promoting local festivals and other community events.
Included in the event, which is designed to bring people together to meet neighbors and build community, will be children’s activities such as sidewalk chalk drawing and face-painting. The event is scheduled to take place in downtown Piqua on High Street between Main and Wayne streets on August 29, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A free concert will start at 7:00 pm close by at the Treviño Performance Pavilion at 125 E. Water Street at Lock 9 Park.
All are welcome at both free events although organizers request that those planning on coming to The Longest Table register in advance for planning purposes. In case of inclement weather, the Fort Piqua Banquet Center is the designated alternative location. It is suggested that attendees bring a hat, fan, umbrella, and blanket, as well as utensils and cups.
