Respiratory program added to Pique college curriculum

Commencing with its 2024 fall semester, Edison State Community College in Piqua will be offering a Respiratory Care program at its Piqua campus for the first time.

Respiratory therapists, who assess and treat individuals of all ages for breathing problems caused by trauma, disease or developmental issues, are in high demand in Ohio. Edison State’s Dean of Professional & Technical Programs, Dr. Andy Runyan explained that the COVID crisis highlighted the increasing need for qualified respiratory therapists.

Universities often find they have multiple uses for professional printing services, and these methods may be used to spread the word about new programs such as this.

The Respiratory Care program at Edison State will be made up of five consecutive terms of sequential courses. The courses will encompass classroom and laboratory work, during which students will acquire clinical experiences designed to build their skills and permit them to demonstrate proficiency in real-life settings.

To take part in the Respiratory Care program, which starts August 26, 2024, students must have first completed the Medical Terminology class. They may then register for the first sequence of respiratory courses after obtaining the program director’s approval.

Upon completion of the program in its entirety, students will be awarded an Applied Science associate degree for Respiratory Care, enabling them to be able to take the Respiratory Therapist Multiple-Choice exam that will qualify them as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
