Piqua mixed-use complex to have new cocktail bar

A redeveloped downtown Piqua building that opened earlier in the year as a mixed-use complex will be adding a new cocktail bar later this summer.

Owners of the new bar, Liquid Lounge, are locals Ricky White and Brittany Current. Their business will be located at 125 W. Ash Street on the building’s first floor. Also found at the location are the Gallery Wedding & Events Venue and The Piqua Arts & Innovation Center.

Among the many aspects of starting a new business are creating a logo and deciding on décor, uniforms, and signage, most of which a Print shop can assist with.

Current, who is native to Sidney, Ohio, had hoped to open her establishment in her hometown, but the building she had planned to use turned out to need more work than was economically feasible for her. Recalling a Piqua building owner she had purchased equipment from, Current remembered that commercial space was available in that building. Reconnecting with the building's owner, she leased 1,800 square feet of the building’s first floor.

Although specializing in craft cocktails, the new venue will also offer wine and will have a dozen beers on tap. Still under development, the menu will include a minimum of five or six specialty cocktails, among which will be a peanut butter and jelly flavored old-fashioned option.
