Dubbed by the Main Street Piqua as Piqua’s Mane Event, the Annual Holiday Horse Parade will return to Piqua this November.
This popular event, which begins on Greene Street where it crosses Main Street, has traditionally drawn a crowd and has been a boon to the local business community. Many local enterprises use events such as this one to hand out Promotional Products to garner goodwill and boost their name recognition.
From the Main and Greene starting point the parade moves down west Greene to Caldwell and turning on Caldwell goes south to High Street. After turning east on High Street the parade moves on to Wayne and then the short jog to Market Street and back to Main Street before finally returning to Greene. While on Main the parade entries will pass the announcer’s stand located at the intersection of Ash and Main streets.
This year’s parade route will vary somewhat from 2019, when the last Holiday Horse Parade was held, in order to allow more area on Caldwell Street for viewing. Dobo’s Delights Bakery will have baked items and hot chocolate for purchase while Cumberland Kettle Corn will be on Ash Street with kettle corn and popcorn available.
Featuring only horse-powered conveyances including hitches, carriages and riders decked out in holiday lights, the Holiday Horse Parade will take place November 9 beginning at 7 pm.
