Organic company to set up Piqua presence

Edible Garden® has recently announced it signed a Letter of Intent that will enable it to meet the increased demand for its products in the Midwest.

Record sales in 2020 and distribution agreements with some of the country’s largest grocery chains such as Kroger, Walmart, and Meijer, as well as many small groceries in the Midwest, has prompted Edible Garden to purchase a Piqua facility. Plans for the new facility are that it will be used in conjunction with Edible Garden’s Flagship Greenhouse in Belvidere, New Jersey.

A privately held company, Edible Garden is at the forefront of locally grown organic herbs and produce. The company contracts with partner farms nationwide via a cooperative franchise farming model. In Belvidere, Edible Garden’s state-of-the-art greenhouse and processing facilities utilize GreenThumb farming technology to optimize every facet of growing herbs and lettuce indoors, while reducing transportation pollution.

Companies that produce food or distribute it often turn to flyer printing services to assist with the distribution of nutritional information and recipes to encourage purchases of their products.

Once the purchase is complete, a comprehensive renovation will take place. GreenThumb software technology will be installed, strict food safety protocols are implemented, and Packaging innovation is enacted. The company anticipates that their purchase will result in dozens of horticultural and indoor farming jobs to the area.

Edible Garden recently started an equity crowdfunding campaign to commercialize cutting-edge environmentally controlled greenhouses.
