Nominations now open for Piqua volunteer awards

The Piqua Community Foundation invites all Piqua residents to send in nominations for its annual Scott J. and Margaret W. Hinsch Community Service Awards.

The awards originated in 2015 and were set up by the Hinsch Family in remembrance of Scott and Mary’s impact on the Piqua community. They are funded by the Hinsch Family Fund, which was started by John and Marsha Hinsch along with Linda Campbell the late Bob Campbell.

In a statement, John Hinsch said:

“We are so humbled to share these awards in memory of my parents who loved and served Piqua all their lives.”

Non-profits frequently use the opportunity presented by these types of awards to include their own nominees or winners in the promotional materials they send to Print shops.

Two community service awards are given out each year: Male nominees will be considered for one named for Scott J. Hinsch while female nominees will be in line for the Margaret W. Hinsch Award.

Nominations are being accepted for the two community service awards by the Piqua Community Foundation until January 23, 2023.

Award winners will be presented with an unrestrictive grant in the amount of $2,000 to further assist the Piqua community, as well as a glass plaque.
