Local charity raises funds for Christmas bikes

Once again Mike Reedy’s organization is raising funds for its ninth straight year of supplying kids with bicycles for Christmas.

In 2014, Mark Reedy started Mark’s Toys for Tots Bike Drive, and each year through that organization has raised money to supply bikes to thousands of youngsters in either Miami, Shelby, or Drake County, depending on the year. In 2022 it is Miami County’s turn, which means many Piqua children are going to receive one of the most prized Christmas gifts ever.

Reedy expressed his views on the group’s yearly drive by saying:

“Every child should have a bike so they can get some exercise and have fun with friends. We are extremely blessed to have such terrific support from these different organizations in the last 8 years.”

Joining Reedy and his staff this year will be the Piqua Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Others he named that turn this project into a success include corporate and anonymous donors, volunteers, and local government officials.

Fundraising success for many organizations rests to a large degree on the assistance provided by printing services.

Fundraising for Mark’s Bike Drive will be ongoing until November 23, according to Miami Valley Today. Donations can be made online here, or Checks can be mailed to 429 N. Main Street, Piqua, OH 45356, payable to Mark’s Bike Drive.
