Edison State to be in ODHEs 2nd Chance Pilot Program

Along with a number of other universities and colleges in Ohio, Edison State Community College has decided to take part in the Second Chance Pilot Program sponsored by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE).

The program’s purpose is to inspire the 1.5 million people from Ohio with college credits but who have not achieved a degree to consider re-enrolling and obtain their credential or degree at a qualifying establishment. To reach this goal, the program will seek to diminish the financial barriers, which are a primary obstacle for many wishing to return to school. A maximum of $3 million will be provided for financial assistance to eligible students by way of $2,000 grants.

Colleges make ample use of brochure printing services both for promotional purposes as well as to inform students and prospective students.

Eligibility for the program involves being disenrolled form an institution of higher learning in Ohio, being in good academic standing and having been enrolled in the last five years. Additionally, a Second Chance Grant Application must be completed by Edison State students. Recipients of state-supported scholarships, and College Credit Plus program enrollees will not be eligible for a Second Chance Grant.

The grants will be accessible to all eligible students desiring to enroll in the Spring 2022 semester at Edison State Community College and will be awarded based on the first-come, first-serve principle.
